Wednesday, the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office released the jail house conversations between Misty Cummings and her parents. The video shows Misty wiping away tears, while pleading with her mother to get her out of jail. “Mama, I want out of here,” says the tearful teenager. “Man, I miss you guys. I’m stuck in this one little cell all the time.” Also released, a conversation between Tommy Croslin and his wife, Lindsay. He too cries when he speaks to his wife and young son. “Listen here, I might not even be going to prison, Lindsay. I don’t have a felony record. They’re just trying to scare us, dude.” In nearly two hours of conversations among the family, Haleigh Cummings is rarely mentioned. Misty was the last person to see the missing Putnam County girl before she vanished nearly a year ago. Tommy says his sister’s notoriety makes him a target for jail house harassment. He says other inmates constantly ask him where Haleigh is. He worries that Misty will be an even bigger target, if she moves out of protective custody. “Misty’s gonna get her little butt kicked. If Misty goes into general population, them girls are gonna have their way with her,” said Tommy Croslin.
