Get My Ex Back
Revelation! Tired of being blackmailed by her no-good father (or is it her ex-husband?) Jessie's character flips, storms the stage, and shocks the audience with the revelation that the surprisingly supple supposedly 60-something star of yesteryear wasn't being entirely sincere about her true identity, while doing high kicks that could take out a lightbulb. "Now you now what I've been dying to tell you for weeks!" Happy 100th birthday Jessie! [Better picture quality clip coming soon...]

jessie is my movie goddess.
she is so charming and beautiful.
Sadly I wasn’t around in the days of the great musicals of the thirties, but thanks to Youtube, the British Film Institute and others, I can enjoy the Golden age of British Cinema. I can tell you that “Evergreen” was shot entirely on location at the “Gaumont- British Picture Corporation’s” Studio’s at Lime Grove, in Shepherds Bush, London.
Sadly, the studio’s have gone, but most of their products still exist.
this was the first movie i ever saw .my sister took me to the picture palace.i got so excited i peed in my welligton boots and had to slosh my way home.but i was happy cos i was going to be a star just like jessie.and now i am 76 i know now that we are all stars,so shine on you crazy diamonds.light upthe world with your love.peace to allxx

Can you up-load the”just by your example dear” scene from Evergreen as i love that tune!!
I have only just found all these Jessie Matthews clips-Just great!
Your video clip is great and I’ve rated it as awesome. I’ve done another clip on some old cigarette cards of 1930’s actors and actresses: Jessie Matthews , Charles Laughton, Gracie Fields, Florence Desmond, Boris Karloff from The Mummy, Laurence Olivier and many more.
Jessie Matthews is my all-time favorite tap-dancing actress! Thank you!
Jessie Mathhews is such a joy to watch.
I am so glad to have her films
“Time is long overdue for a major Jessie Matthews revival!”
Yes indeed, but the geneticists havent quite got us there yet… (sorry, I’ve been watching Futurama again)
Time is long overdue for a major Jessie Matthews revival! Thank you for posting this fitting tribute, look at her go!
