Get My Ex Back
This video was done back in 1989 while my ex-husband was stationed at Amberg Germany. Pond Barracks no longer exists so it is fun to have litte video clips of the installation.
I only remember Captain Hazard as the CO. We bought a silver station wagon from the out going 1St Sgt but I don’t remember his name. His wife was the nicest woman and helped us become acquainted with things around post.
I troop 3/2 ‘tojours pret” 70-71. Border duty was tough in the winter. Used to stop at the little grocery store at the bottom of the hill so we didn’t have to eat nothing but C-rations. Thanks for the memory
Thank you for sharing your memories. Roma had the best veggie pizza that they lit on fire. The only thing I did not like was that they used black olives with pits. The lasagna with peas was even good.
Think the best years of my life were in Amberg, Pond Barracks and Bavaria with L Trp 3/2 ACR 83-85, then went to Nurnberg to work in the ROC Border Opns. Thank you for the memories, sure miss the Roma.
I know when we were stationed in Vilseck they had some nice places to stay but I don’t know if that included the retirees. Since it has been 10 years I am sure it has changed. You might try looking up the Grafenwoehr military website or the 7th Army training command and see what they have available.
Loved being there from 76 – 79 at 3/2 ACR HQ. Lived just a few blocks away (Uhlandstrasse). Saw CSM Patton at a commissary a few years ago and caught up. My wife and I are coming to visit in June for the first time in 30 years (with our son who was born there (and his wife)). Would appreciate any information from anyone in the area on recommendations of places to stay, restaurants, visit, or any pertinent info. Does anyone know if Vilseck or Graf have any place to stay either on or off post?
Stationed at 3/2 from 76 – 79. I am searching for any info since we are visiting Amberg next month for the first time in 30 years. Would love any current info you might have on the area. We are bringing our son who was born there back to see his home and neighborhood. Great memories of good people, times, and life.. THX
damn, i remember this well, i was only a kid back then but i miss amberg.. used to live on drahthammerstrasse. my dad was 1LT Steven Daigle, he was with 3/2 ACR, I Troop. anybody know him by any chance? aint seen him since ‘93.
You are welcome. You were there the same time we were there. This first building on the right is HHC and K-troop heading straight down to the motorpool.
I have fond memories too. I really enjoyed the spring time, parking next to the swimming pool and walking to the downtown area.
We were in Vilseck from 1996-1999 so I saw the post being torn down and rebuilt. The troop buildings and one other building are still there but it is really different. You can find it on Google earth.
Another thank you for showing this video. I was there from 1989-1991- with my ex husb. I LOVED it there! We lived off base in Ensdorf and I also remember romas- I loved the cordon blue (sp) and I also remember the insurance lady that lived in the apartments! Isn’t it funny how some things stick in you memory bank lol! It seems like yesterday. If I am seeing correctly at the video, was that the first set of barracks to the right as soon as you enter the front gate?
I have you all beat. I was there during this video and know the two guys at the beginning of it. They are Reggie Hamilton and I’m not sure of the second but we were all cooks in the mess hall. That place was crazy. Wouldn’t trade it for anything. Remember going to the Melody and Harmony bars. Getting stupid drunk. Mikes Beirhause and their Snakebite shots that they would send out on a board with like 6 shots flaming on it. You sucked them out of a straw. Couldn’t do that today! Loved it all!!!!!
I was stationed at Pond Barracks, Amberg, Germany from 1976-1978. I was a Tanker in “M” company. I simply love this video. It brings back so many memories like, Camp May and Camp Rotz-no longer sure of the spelling. Thanks for a look back over 30-years ago. Lets keep in touch. Big thanks to your husband.
Welcome to my blog. My name is Robert Stonehill and I am a Dating Coach. I thought it would be fun to post a daily (well hopefully daily) blog, writing about my experiences in Exlove and more specifically in how to Get Back Your Exlove. I'll include some personal stuff too, probably about my other passions, music and cars. Please feel free to post your comments and thoughts too.

Wow. I was born at the Krankenhaus in 1978
I may have visited your dad for a dental visit. My youngest son was born at the Krankenhaus, July of 1991.
I was born in Amberg in 1990 at the Krankenhaus and my dad was the dentist at Pond Barracks from ‘87-’90

Was May still captain and White the First Sarge?
My ex was assigned to K-troop. We were there from 88-91.

As soon as you entered the front gate, the first building on the right was Mco and K troop, not HHC. I was there in Mco during this video.
