@waswss How dare you say that about Andy. He had the most brillant minds in entertainment ever. He was the best & one of a kind man. I wish he was still alive.
I understand all that-Im 48 yo, I saw him come up, my Mother came and got me out of bed to come see him do Elvis on Johnny Carson-no one did Elvis in those days, not like now where Elvis impersonators are the status quo, he created the genre-props to him for all that-but this later stuff like this, why is it in the category “Comedy” if it’s anti-comedy? Watch his wrestling stuff-his Mic time-funny funny stuff
I didn’t suspect it was staged until she started complaining about how they weren’t following the prearranged topics. That part sounds too much like a “bit.”
I remember his Archie bunker impressions and of course, the Elvis impression, they were very funny-shit like this, yes, it’s interesting, dont know if it’s staged or not, but, I just dont see how it’s particularly funny, I just dont think being a jerk is all that funny, never did-I think he’s just been glorified because of his early death
i don’t think it’s staged. just obvious inviting an ex-girlfriend on the show. who doesn’t love to watch a couple fight. and knowing that is what made it good t.v. and why andy is awesome.
Welcome to my blog. My name is Robert Stonehill and I am a Dating Coach. I thought it would be fun to post a daily (well hopefully daily) blog, writing about my experiences in Exlove and more specifically in how to Get Back Your Exlove. I'll include some personal stuff too, probably about my other passions, music and cars. Please feel free to post your comments and thoughts too.
Wow, very unique clip..
Im pretty sure that was Bob Zmuda as Tony Clifton here-they would both do Tony at different times and places to create doubt and confusion
@bigjimsteelrod Very true I love Andy’s Elvis impernations. I love anythning Andy Kaufman did.
@SeanPhillipMabrey Yes it is comedy. Andy Kaufman was a very funny man.
@glasseyemolly Andy was not a jerk. Really he was a very nice guy. It’s just sometimes he would act like a jerk.

It’s anti-comedy.
Great improvisational comedy. Improv is something that has been totally lost since the mid 80s.

I was the only one working in those days!
HAHAHAHA

@10menonachest: “i don’t think it’s staged.” This is Andy Kaufman we’re talking about here, you can never be sure of anything.

Elayne Boosler had trained for a career in professional wrestling, but then switched to comedy instead.
